1. Arts
Program
Volunteers in the art program oversee workshops and competitions. This includes instructing participants in various art techniques such as brushwork and color theory, as well as selecting creative themes for painting and selecting the colors and brushes to be bought for events. The program also involves assisting and interacting with participants through providing instructions for the theme chosen, and engaging with them to understand their artistic intentions and emotions throughout the creative process. Local volunteers are also in charge of decorating venues where events are held.
Why?
The objective of the arts program is to encourage art as a form of non-verbal expression and therapeutic release. As such, it is crucial to select proper sets of colors and materials that will be used during the event. Often during painting, emotions from past experiences resurface. The workshop aims to provide a safe space for participants to express these deeply rooted, suppressed emotions freely and help find a path towards resolution.
2. Design
Program
Volunteers oversee the entire process of social media management, from designing posts to planning, creating, and advertising content. They are also responsible for designing products sold, the cards that go along with it, certificates, and are documentation of activities or programs.
